Travel Translator

The KUENTAS Travel Translator lets you translate text, voice and photos in real time directly from your trip. With more than 35 available languages, it's your personal interpreter at any destination.

Three translation modes

Text

Type or paste the text you want to translate. Great for messages, emails or product names.

Voice

Record up to 30 seconds of audio. Perfect for translating phrases you hear or want to say.

Camera

Take a photo of a sign, menu, notice or any text. AI detects and translates all the content.

How to use the Translator

1

Open your trip

Open the trip where you need to translate.

2

Tap "Translator"

Find the icon in the trip tools carousel.

3

Choose the mode

Select Text, Voice or Camera depending on what you need to translate.

4

Select the languages

At the top you can choose the source language (or leave it on "Detect" to auto-detect) and the target language. Use the swap button to reverse them.

5

Get the translation

The result appears in a card with the translated text, a pronunciation guide and the option to hear the translation out loud.

Listen to the translation

Every translation includes a "Listen" button that plays the translated text out loud. Great for practicing pronunciation or showing someone what you want to say.

You can also copy the translation to the clipboard with the "Copy" button.

Available languages

The translator supports more than 35 languages organized by region:

  • Main: Spanish, English, Portuguese, French, German, Italian
  • Asia: Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Korean, Hindi, Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Malay, Filipino
  • Europe: Dutch, Greek, Polish, Czech, Croatian, Hungarian, Romanian, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, Ukrainian, Catalan
  • Middle East & Africa: Arabic, Hebrew, Turkish, Persian, Swahili
  • Other: Russian
Tip

The target language is suggested automatically based on your trip countries. If you're traveling to Japan, the translator suggests Japanese as the target.

Camera mode: signs, menus and more

Camera mode is especially useful for:

  • Street signs or transport station signs
  • Restaurant menus in another language
  • Instructions at museums or attractions
  • Product labels in supermarkets
  • Instructions or notices at accommodation

AI detects all the visible text in the photo, translates it and also gives you context for each element.

Usage limits

100 translations per day

You can do up to 100 translations per day (text, voice and camera all count). Listening to translations (TTS) doesn't count toward the limit. The counter resets every 24 hours. You need an internet connection.
