The Anomaly Detector automatically scans your expenses for errors, duplicates or inconsistencies. It helps you keep your data clean and your balances correct.
What does it detect?
Duplicates
Expenses that look like they're repeated
Odd amounts
Values that are unusually high or low
Wrong category
Expenses that are miscategorized
Dates
Expenses with inconsistent dates
How it works
Automatic analysis
AI reviews your expenses periodically or when you request it.
Detection
It identifies suspicious patterns by comparing against history.
Notification
It alerts you if it finds something to review.
Correction
You decide whether to fix, ignore or confirm the expense.
Anomaly examples
- Duplicate: "Restaurant lunch" x $5,000 appears twice on the same day
- Unusual amount: A coffee for $50,000 (missing a decimal?)
- Category: A "Pharmacy" expense categorized as "Entertainment"
- Date: An expense dated 3 months ago in a trip from this week
Review detected anomalies before closing a trip. An error in one expense can throw off all the balances.
Available actions
When an anomaly is detected, you can:
- Fix: Edit the expense to correct it
- Delete: If it's a duplicate, remove it
- Ignore: If it's correct, mark it as reviewed
The system learns from your patterns. If you always have coffees for $5,000 it won't flag that. But if a $50,000 one suddenly shows up, it'll let you know.
