KUENTAS fetches exchange rates automatically from reliable sources. You can view the current rates and refresh them whenever you need.
View current rates
Open your trip
Open the trip where you want to check the rates.
Go to Currencies
Tap "Currencies" from the menu.
Check the rates
You'll see each currency with its rate relative to the main currency.
Update rates
To get the most recent rates:
- On the currencies screen, tap "Update rates"
- Or pull down to refresh
- Rates are fetched from the internet
Rates update automatically every time you open the currencies section if more than 1 hour has passed since the last update.
Data sources
KUENTAS uses reliable sources to fetch exchange rates:
- DolarApi for Latin American currencies (ARS, BRL, CLP, COP, MXN, UYU, etc.)
- ExchangeRate-API for the rest of the world (EUR, GBP, JPY, etc.)
Rates are for reference and may differ from what you'll find at exchange bureaus or banks.
How do rates affect things?
New expenses
Converted using the rate in effect when they're created
Existing expenses
Keep the rate they were created with
Balances
Calculated by adding up each expense using its original rate
If you're offline, the last saved rates are used. You can refresh them once you're back online.
