How to set the main currency
It's set when you create the trip, but you can change it later:
Open your trip
Open the trip where you want to change the main currency.
Go to Currencies
Tap "Currencies" from the menu.
Select the currency
Tap the currency you want to set as main.
Tap "Set as main"
Confirm your selection.
Pick the currency you prefer to think in. Usually it's your home currency or the one you'll be spending the most in.
What happens when you change it?
If you change the main currency:
- Balances are recalculated in the new currency
- Expenses keep their original currencies
- Exchange rates adjust automatically
- Totals and stats are updated
Changing the main currency can shift your balances if exchange rates have changed. Double-check everything looks right after switching.
Practical example
If your trip is to Europe and you choose Euro (EUR) as the main currency:
- A $100 USD expense will also be shown in EUR
- The balance will say "You're owed €50" or "You owe €50"
- The trip total will be in Euros
